Job summary

Al-Futtaim Group is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to manage backup platforms across Cloud and On-Prem environments. The role includes overseeing global backups, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving modernization of backup systems for continuity and efficiency.

You will standardize solutions, manage NetBackup lifecycles, and partner with vendors. A strong focus on data protection, DR planning, and security is required for this evolving platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• Enterprise backup certification (e.g., Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam) and a Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-104 or higher) are required.
• Minimum of 5+ years hands-on experience in enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage backup and recovery solutions ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
• Engage with vendors to conduct health checks and implement best practices.
• Modernize cloud backup platforms and standardize solutions across regions.
• Manage the full life cycle of the NetBackup platform including hardware and software.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, and business continuity of the data protection platform.
