Job summary

Al-Futtaim in Dubai invites a Data Protection Engineer - Backup & Recovery to oversee enterprise backup platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. You will improve availability, recovery readiness, and ransomware protection while aligning with regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in enterprise backup, hands-on with NetBackup, Cohesity, and Veeam, and solid Azure platform experience. AZ-104 or higher is mandatory for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least five years hands-on experience in enterprise backup and data protection.
• Minimum three years administering Cohesity, Veritas NetBackup, or Veeam.
• Experience protecting Azure platform services including Azure SQL Database and managed workloads.
• Azure certification at AZ-104 level or higher is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Maintain data protection platforms per security standards, regulatory obligations, and business continuity requirements.
• Administer NetBackup, Cohesity, and Veeam across the environment and plan upgrades.
• Coordinate platform health checks with vendors and implement best-practice recommendations.
• Modernize cloud backup for services, databases, containers, and new workloads.
• Ensure encryption, immutability, and ransomware protection for backup data.
