Job summary

Emirates National Investment is seeking an experienced Data Management Officer to join our IT team in Dubai. The role focuses on establishing and maintaining a comprehensive view of the organisation’s data across entities, including governance, retention, protection and reporting.

Reporting to the Head of IT, you will work with data mapping, lineage, and DPIAs, applying UAE PDPL regulations while supporting AI enablement and data quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data, Computer Science, IT, Law, Business or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years hands-on data experience.
• Experience with data governance and data protection/privacy requirements.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to interrogate data models.
• Experience creating data inventories, dictionaries, lineage documentation and retention schedules.
• Knowledge of UAE PDPL, GDPR, DIFC or ADGM data protection regulations.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities

• Map and inventory data across entities and systems.
• Document data flows and lineage including APIs and batch processes.
• Develop data governance docs: inventories, dictionaries, ROPA, retention.
• Understand data lifecycle: archival, retention, deletion, backups.
• Use SQL and data models to validate data and understand relations.
• Support Data Protection Officer and DPIAs.
• Apply data protection principles regarding PDPL.
• Provide data advisory and reporting support.
• Support AI enablement by assessing data readiness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to resolve data issues.
