Job summary

SWORD Group in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to design, build, and maintain enterprise BI solutions using Power BI. You will translate business needs into actionable dashboards and reports to drive data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years as a Power BI Developer, strong SQL, SSAS/SSIS, and data modeling skills. You will collaborate across teams and work with cloud and on-premise data sources to enable scalable analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of experience as a Power BI Developer with strong BI reporting.
• Proven BI Developer experience and proficiency in DAX and data modeling.
• Strong SQL skills, data warehousing, ETL concepts, and data visualization.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Data Analyst with strong proficiency in BI development and Power BI. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain BI reports and dashboards to support business needs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and actionable visualizations.
• Implement data models and data integration solutions using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex calculations and measures.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Optimize and enhance existing Power BI solutions for performance and scalability.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and troubleshooting.
• Work with both on-premise and cloud-based data sources to create comprehensive BI solutions.
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and reports.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decision-making.
• Create interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical users to explain complex data concepts and BI solutions.
• Create user documentation for BI solutions to facilitate end-user understanding and adoption.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6 - 10 years of experience as a Power BI Developer, minimum 4 years developing and building visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, SSAS Tabular Models.
• Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or similar role.
• Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Fine Report, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in DAX is a must.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proven hands-on experience on the tools / technologies below is a must:

• Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service and Power BI Premium
• Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
