Overview
Business Analyst - Power BI in Dubai, within the IT and Services sector is a high-impact business intelligence and data automation role focused on Power BI dashboards, Power Automate workflows, SQL data extraction, and consolidated reporting across Finance, Projects, and HR domains. The role is suitable for a hands‑on BI professional who can transform legacy ERP, project, HR, and Excel‑based data into actionable insights during a critical Oracle Fusion Cloud transition programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather reporting, automation, and data visibility requirements from Finance, Projects, HR, and programme stakeholders.
- Develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytical models that support business visibility during the transition to Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Build consolidated data models using information from Sage Evolution, Deltek Vantagepoint, Smart HR, Excel, and other structured sources.
- Design data models using star schema, fact tables, dimension tables, relationships, measures, and reusable reporting logic.
- Create advanced DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and clean semantic models for business reporting.
- Configure Power BI workspaces, gateways, row-level security, refresh schedules, and report access controls.
- Use SQL to extract, transform, validate, and reconcile data from relational databases and legacy systems.
- Build Power Automate cloud flows, approval workflows, scheduled triggers, and Microsoft 365 connector‑based automations.
- Support business users with reporting prototypes, dashboard walkthroughs, requirements workshops, and user acceptance validation.
- Work with data analysts to align reporting outputs with finance, project, HR, and Oracle migration data structures.
- Create exception reports, reconciliation dashboards, operational trackers, and programme performance views.
- Improve process efficiency by automating manual reporting, approval, and notification workflows.
- Support data-driven decision‑making throughout ERP implementation, migration readiness, and business transition activities.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, BI Developer, Power BI Developer, or similar data‑focused role.
- Expert‑level Power BI experience, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query, row‑level security, workspaces, and gateway management.
- Hands‑on experience with Power Automate, including cloud flows, approval workflows, scheduled triggers, and Microsoft 365 connectors.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation across relational databases.
- Experience extracting and analysing data from ERP or finance systems such as Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including Power Query, pivot tables, dynamic arrays, and data modelling.
- Experience working with project management or PSA data from systems such as Deltek, Project Online, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of star schema, fact and dimension modelling, data relationships, and reporting layer design.
- Ability to run requirements workshops and translate business needs into practical BI and automation solutions.
- Microsoft PL‑300 Power BI Data Analyst certification is an advantage.
- Microsoft Power Platform PL‑200 certification is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion OTBI, Oracle Analytics Cloud, or BI Publisher will add value.
- Familiarity with Sage Evolution reporting, Deltek Vantagepoint reporting APIs, Oracle Fusion Cloud data structures, or ERP migration programmes is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Python, Azure Data Factory, Dataverse, SharePoint, or Power Platform data sources is an advantage.
- GCC or UAE experience in construction, leisure, real estate, or professional services environments is preferred.
