Job summary
Emirates Steel in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior Appointed Person to lead lifting operations and safety compliance for all crane activities. The role focuses on developing lifting plans, ensuring competent personnel, and implementing safe systems of work across facilities.
You will oversee third-party inspections, review certificates, and support incident investigations, while coordinating with operations to maintain regulatory compliance and safe lifting programs.
Qualifications
- Experience with lifting equipment; minimum 5 years in lifting operations.
- Minimum 10 years in crane-related supervisory/management role.
- Certified signaler/slinger with a third-party provider certificate.
- Knowledge of UAE Federal Health and Safety Codes of Practice.
Responsibilities
- Develop lifting plans and safe systems of work for lifting operations.
- Prepare and review lifting plans and ensure safety controls are in place.
- Ensure competency and responsibilities are understood by personnel.
- Monitor third-party lifting inspections and test certificates.
- Advise operations on lifting safety standards and incidents.
- Attend crane and lifting-related meetings and represent the company in audits.
- Be the focal point for lifting safety information.
