XM Careers is seeking a Senior Compliance, AML and Risk Officer to build and oversee a comprehensive compliance and risk framework in a fast-paced environment. You will support regulatory readiness and provide independent oversight to the Board and senior management.

You will establish the Compliance Management System, monitor VARA and AML/CFT requirements, conduct risk assessments, and report to the Board. This role requires 5+ years in financial services with strong English communication.

Formación

• Degree in Law, Business, Finance or Economics.
• 5+ years of relevant compliance experience (AML/CFT).
• Experience in financial services or online trading is preferred.
• CAMS or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Strong English written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Establish and administer the Compliance Management System (policies, controls, monitoring).
• Monitor VARA/AML/CFT compliance and identify risks and breaches.
• Conduct AML/CFT and business risk assessments; strengthen controls.
• Prepare consolidated reports for the Board on compliance, audits, and risk.
• Maintain records and provide documents to VARA and authorities on request.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery; train senior management.

Senior Compliance, AML and Risk Officer

The Role:

We are seeking a strategic and proactive Senior Compliance, AML and Risk Officer to join our team in a rapidly growing, fast-paced and agile environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in building the Company’s compliance and risk framework, supporting regulatory readiness and providing independent oversight to the Board and senior management.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Establish and administer the Compliance Management System, including compliance, AML/CFT and risk policies, procedures, controls and monitoring arrangements.
• Monitor compliance with VARA, AML/CFT, consumer-protection and other applicable requirements, identifying emerging risks, weaknesses and material breaches and ensuring appropriate corrective action.
• Conduct AML/CFT and broader business risk assessments, strengthen controls in response to identified risks, and oversee the Company’s overall risk exposure.
• Monitor and report suspicious transactions in accordance with applicable requirements, including relevant anonymity-enhanced transactions and clients where required.
• Prepare consolidated reports for the Board covering compliance activities, audits, AML/CFT effectiveness, risk exposures, material findings, non-compliance and remediation progress.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure reports and supporting documentation are available to VARA and other relevant authorities when requested.
• Support the development and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements.
• Train and advise the Board, senior management and employees on compliance, AML/CFT and risk-management obligations.
• Collaborate with Legal, Licensing, Operations, Technology and other stakeholders to embed effective controls across the business.

Main requirements:

• Degree in Law, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant compliance experience, including handling AML/CFT matters.
• Proven experience in financial services or online trading industry.
• Experience with VARA or a comparable regulatory regime is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance principles.
• Relevant professional qualifications in compliance, AML or risk management; CAMS or equivalent is an advantage.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable building processes and controls in a new and rapidly developing business.
• Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Integrity of character and high levels of confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
