Job summary

KBR Abu Dhabi is seeking a Commercial Contracts Support Manager to lead contract administration, compliance, claims management and dispute resolution on the Power and Water Transmission Scheme.

As a PMC role, you will coordinate with supervision consultants and EPCs appointed by the Client, drive strategic planning, resource management and ensure timely commercial closure within budget while upholding governance and risk controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Law or Quantity Surveying; MRICS or equivalent certification preferred.
• 15+ years contracts administration experience in large infrastructure programmes.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial and contractual support across all project lots.
• Monitor contract compliance, addressing deviations with delivery contractors and supervision consultants.
• Assist in contract negotiations, claims management, and dispute resolution.
• Prepare and review financial and commercial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Administer the main contract and subcontracts in line with the agreed terms and conditions.
• Interpret contract clauses and advise the project team on contractual obligations, entitlements, and risks.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, notices, timelines, and documentation procedures.
• Maintain contract registers, correspondence logs, and records of contractual events.
• Manage variation instructions, change requests, and compensation event procedures.
• Assess contractual entitlement for time and cost arising from design changes, client instructions, delays, or disruption.
• Ensure changes are properly notified, substantiated, evaluated, and agreed.
• Track pending variations and support timely commercial closure.
• Lead efforts to resolve contractual disputes through negotiation and structured correspondence.
• Support senior management in mediation, adjudication, arbitration, or litigation preparation where required.
• Prepare contractual position papers and evidence files for disputed matters.
• Work to resolve issues early to avoid escalation and preserve project relationships.
• Manage contractual close-out procedures, including completion obligations and release of securities where applicable.
• Negotiate and settle final accounts with EPCs.
• Ensure all claims, variations, and outstanding contractual matters are resolved before final closure.
• Support lessons learned and close-out reporting.
