Job summary

SOCOTEC UAE seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to deliver quality structural engineering services for SOCOTEC clients in Abu Dhabi. You will perform site inspections to ensure adherence to local regulations and project requirements, and ensure work follows instructions and SOCOTEC policies.

The role requires 10+ years in the UAE, a valid Engineers Card, and the ability to translate drawings to on-site execution, with knowledge of MePS and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of verifiable experience in UAE.
• Valid Engineers Card to be presented.
• If candidate possesses experience outside the UAE, it must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Review documents according to the level of checking designated by Management and in line with Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with standards, best practice codes, regulations, etc.
• Elaborate and submit Site Inspection reports.
• Ensure that all construction activities (specifically steel reinforcement placement) comply with approved designs, specifications, regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Match site conditions to approved drawings and display knowledge of the Municipal e-Permitting System (MePS).
• Comply with SOCOTEC International and client quality, safety and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
• Ensure that accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards are reported and paperwork is completed.
• Work with the team to promote a safe workplace, healthy working life, sustainable environment and the right to intervene.
