Job summary

Stafmed in the UAE is seeking a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a leading hospital. You will provide advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care, leading complex procedures and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.

The role requires American Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery and DHA/DOH/MOHAP licensing eligibility, along with strong leadership and communication skills to guide perioperative care and governance.

Qualifications

• American Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Extensive clinical and surgical experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP, as applicable
• Strong communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex cardiothoracic conditions.
• Perform cardiac surgeries, including CABG and valve procedures.
• Perform thoracic surgical procedures involving the lungs, pleura, mediastinum, and chest wall.
• Develop individualised surgical and perioperative treatment plans.
• Provide preoperative assessment and postoperative care.
• Manage surgical complications and provide appropriate critical care coordination.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to clinical guidelines and patient safety standards.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and medical education activities.
