Job summary

Health7Careers is sourcing a Consultant/Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a premier tertiary-care hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures in state-of-the-art theatres and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will lead surgical care across outpatient, elective, and ICU settings, with a focus on high-quality outcomes, patient safety, and adherence to international guidelines and UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• Applications are welcome from surgeons holding recognised specialist qualifications such as the boards listed above.
• Candidates must meet licensing requirements for DOH / DHA / MOH with local guidance provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and complex surgeries.
• Conduct thoracic procedures such as lung resections and mediastinal surgeries; manage thoracic malignancies.
• Utilise minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques where appropriate.
• Manage pre-operative evaluation and surgical planning for cardiac and thoracic patients.
• Provide post-operative care and monitoring; coordinate with ICU and critical care teams.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and intensivists for comprehensive care.
• Participate in heart-team discussions and multidisciplinary case reviews.
• Handle emergencies and ensure adherence to infection control and clinical governance.
• Maintain documentation and participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Comply with international guidelines and UAE health authority regulations.
