Job summary

Allocation Assist is seeking an experienced Consultant Cardiothoracic Anesthetist to join a leading tertiary-care hospital in Dubai. The role provides specialized anesthetic and perioperative care for complex cardiac, cardiothoracic, thoracic and major vascular procedures, with strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent with accredited anesthesiology training.
• Completed residency training in Anesthesiology with cardiac focus.
• Postgraduate qualification in Adult Cardiac/ Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for or holding DHA Consultant license; ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative anesthetic care for adult cardiothoracic patients.
• Conduct detailed pre-anesthetic assessments and optimize high-risk cardiac patients before surgery.
• Provide anesthesia for CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery and major vascular procedures.
• Manage complex cardiothoracic cases and hybrid/minimally invasive procedures.
• Perform and interpret transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and participate in Heart Team discussions.
• Coordinate with cardiac ICU for postoperative management and transfer of critically ill patients.
• Participate in on-call, emergency and morbidity/mortality reviews and QA programs.
• Teach and supervise residents, fellows and junior staff; contribute to CME/CPD.
