Job summary

ICARDA, the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas, located in the UAE, seeks a Capacity Development Officer to coordinate training design, implementation and monitoring for the C4RPWC program. The role spans ToTs, farmer field schools, e-learning, and regional knowledge exchange across participating countries.

The officer reports to the C4RPWC Project Manager and collaborates with ICARDA's Rabat team to align capacity development with broader institutional standards and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's desirable.
• At least 5 years in capacity development, training or related programs.
• Experience designing ToTs, workshops, Farmer Field Schools, or e-learning.
• Ability to translate complex knowledge into learning materials.
• Knowledge of adult learning, needs assessment, curriculum development.
• Experience with multi-country programs and partners is desirable.
• Strong English; Arabic desirable; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate capacity development planning and annual training calendar.
• Coordinate ToT and training across topics (biological control, digital tech, GAP/IPM, data management, etc.).
• Support conversion of research outputs into training materials (manuals, guides, presentations).
• Coordinate development and deployment of e-learning modules and translations as needed.
• Maintain records of programs, participants, materials, and evaluations; support MEL indicators.
• Coordinate knowledge management and partnerships; document lessons learned and success stories.
