Job summary

Edari in Dubai is seeking a Senior BI Consultant to design, develop, and deliver enterprise BI, analytics, data warehousing, and reporting solutions for a client in the region. This contract role runs for 12 months and is renewable based on performance.

You will lead the BI lifecycle from requirements gathering through data modelling, semantic layer development, dashboards, and executive reporting, with deep experience in Power BI, Azure data tools, ETL/ELT, and data governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years delivering Enterprise BI, Analytics and Data Warehousing solutions.
• Strong experience with Power BI Desktop/Service, DAX, and Azure data stack.

Job description

We are looking to hire a Senior BI Consultant who will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering enterprise Business Intelligence, analytics, data warehousing, and reporting solutions for our client based in Dubai, which is one of the largest companies in the region.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months to and is renewable based on performance.

We are looking for a passionate Senior BI Consultant with extensive experience in delivering end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions, from business requirements gathering through enterprise data modelling, semantic layer development, dashboard design, and executive reporting. You should also possess strong expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Enterprise Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT development, SQL, DAX, dimensional modelling, and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities:

• Engage directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
• Conduct workshops to gather requirements, define KPIs, business metrics, dimensions, and business rules.
• Translate business requirements into scalable Business Intelligence and analytics solutions.
• Prepare functional and technical documentation.
• Design and develop executive dashboards, operational reports, KPI scorecards, and self-service BI solutions using Power BI.
• Apply modern dashboard design, data visualization, storytelling, and UX best practices.
• Create dashboard wireframes and prototypes using Figma.
• Design and maintain enterprise semantic models, tabular models, and reusable datasets.
• Develop business calculations, KPIs, and measures using DAX.
• Build governed self-service BI solutions and enterprise semantic layers using Azure Analysis Services.
• Design and support Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments.
• Develop dimensional models using Kimball methodology, with knowledge of Inmon methodology and Data Vault modelling.
• Design star schemas, fact tables, dimension tables, and analytical datasets.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data integration solutions.
• Integrate data from ERP, CRM, Finance, Asset Management, Leasing, Maintenance, and other operational systems.
• Ensure enterprise data platforms maintain high standards of quality, reliability, scalability, governance, and performance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering Enterprise Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Warehousing solutions.
• Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Expertise in DAX, Power Query, semantic models, tabular models, and Azure Analysis Services.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, dimensional modelling, Kimball methodology, Inmon methodology, Data Vault, and Star Schema design.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
• Strong ETL/ELT development, advanced SQL/T-SQL, API integration, and enterprise data integration experience.
• Proven experience engaging business stakeholders, gathering requirements, and defining KPIs.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within Telecommunications, Banking & Financial Services, Real Estate, Asset Management, Facilities Management, or Retail will be an advantage.
