Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Business Development Executive to lead and support market expansion and product sourcing for our Specialist Products & Services division. This role is focused on developing new markets in the Middle East, North Africa, Iraq, and the Mediterranean by introducing high-performance chemicals, additives, and technical materials targeting upstream energy operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical insight and commercial strategy, capable of identifying emerging needs and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Business Development:
- Develop regional market strategies and commercial plans across targeted territories.
- Identify new industry segments, project developments, and product gaps in upstream operations.
- Create market entry strategies and establish distribution or agent networks where appropriate.
Product Sourcing & Technical Representation:
- Source specialty chemicals and performance materials suited to upstream applications.
- Engage with global suppliers and technology partners to secure regional exclusivity or supply rights.
- Maintain understanding of new product developments, sustainability regulations, and operational trends.
Target Product Categories:
- Mud chemicals: LCMs, lubricants, emulsifiers, rheology modifiers, surfactants, shale inhibitors
- Cementing and stimulation chemicals: retarders, spacers, friction reducers, surfactants, foaming agents
- Production chemicals: demulsifies, scale/corrosion/wax inhibitors, biocides, drag reducing agents
- Specialty fuels and base oils for blending
- Water treatment chemicals for oilfield use
- FPSO/Terminal chemicals: defoamers, fuel additives, cleaning agents, water clarifiers
Sales & Commercial Management:
- Own the regional sales pipeline and lead the commercial interface with technical and sourcing teams.
- Negotiate and manage pricing, volume targets, and supply terms with suppliers and partners.
- Lead the preparation of market intelligence reports and internal forecasts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Petroleum, Business, or related qualifications
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in oilfield chemical sales, product sourcing, or business development.
- In-depth knowledge of upstream operations, drilling, and production environments.
- Demonstrated success in building new markets or sourcing strategies in emerging regions.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the Middle East, North Africa, Iraq, and Mediterranean regions.
- Team player, strong problem-solving skills and able to work independently.
