Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience in Python.
• Strong experience with FastAPI or equivalent async Python frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and migrations.
• Experience with Redis, Celery, or equivalent task queue and caching systems.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API design patterns.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful and WebSocket APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Architect database schemas and optimize query performance across PostgreSQL.
• Build event-driven systems using message queues for cross-service communication.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Create data pipelines that aggregate information across portfolio companies.
• Write comprehensive tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers on API contracts.
• Document APIs and internal systems for team knowledge sharing.
