Job summary

Kreston Awni Farsakh & Co. in the UAE seeks an experienced Audit Team Leader to manage audit engagements from planning through completion. The role involves supervising audit teams, maintaining client relationships, and delivering high-quality services in accordance with IFRS, ISA, and UAE tax and VAT requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical excellence, and the ability to handle multiple engagements while supporting the firm’s growth objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of external audit experience, UAE experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ISA.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from planning and risk assessment through to completion.
• Review and approve audit working papers and financial statements.
• Lead engagement teams, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery within budgets.
• Perform and review risk assessments, evaluate internal controls.
• Review complex accounting matters and determine reporting implications.
• Supervise and mentor audit seniors and juniors.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and partners.
• Review and finalize management letters and audit reports.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, ISA, UAE corporate tax and VAT.
