Job summary

Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai seeks a freelance Audio Technician to lead and operate the Arena Audio Department during live events. You will oversee team coordination, deliver high-quality sound, and ensure reliable comms and radio systems.

Responsibilities include maintenance, setup, troubleshooting, budgeting input, and coordinating with production and external suppliers while upholding health, safety and environmental standards. The role requires your own visa/sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Audio Engineering or related AV discipline.
• Proven experience in professional audio, AV operations, and live event production.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Audio Department, including team coordination, training, and daily operations.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot arena audio, communication, and radio systems.
• Mix and deliver high-quality audio for live events and productions.
• Collaborate with production teams and event organizers to provide AV solutions and technical support.
• Manage AV equipment maintenance, repairs, inventory, and safe storage.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and report equipment issues before and after events.
• Support event setup and ensure technical delivery is completed on schedule.
• Assist with budgeting, resource planning, and cost-effective technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and best practices.
• Provide on-site technical assistance to clients, organizers, and stakeholders.
• Liaise with external suppliers to maintain exceptional AV service standards.
• Act as Technical Supervisor/Manager when required.
• Monitor venue safety, report incidents, and maintain a secure event environment.
• Promote a strong safety culture through staff awareness, training, and risk management.

You should have:

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Audio Engineering or related AV discipline

Experience and Technical Requirements:

• Proven experience in professional audio, AV operations, and live event production.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.

• Experience using AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and audio prediction/modeling software such as Soundvision, d&b ArrayCalc, JBL, and L-Acoustics Soundvision.

• Strong working knowledge of digital mixing consoles, including DiGiCo, Avid, Yamaha, and Allen & Heath.

• Hands-on experience with JBL Line Array systems and large-scale audio deployments.

• Familiarity with Clear-Com and Riedel communications systems, networking, RF technologies, and digital audio systems.

• Demonstrated experience in AV equipment installation, operation, troubleshooting, and event support.

• Strong understanding of the Dubai entertainment, live events, and venue industry.

• IPath certification is an advantage.
