Job summary

Mirage in Dubai seeks an experienced Specification Writing Lead with deep knowledge of architectural standards and materials. You will oversee the creation of comprehensive specification packages for large projects, ensure compliance with UAE building codes, and mentor junior coordinators.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and consultants, maintain templates, and continuously improve specification content to meet client requirements and industry benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• 11+ years’ experience in specification writing within architecture, including senior-level experience.
• Expert knowledge of specification formats (e.g. NBS, Uniclass), materials and construction standards.
• Strong understanding of UAE and international building codes as they relate to specifications.
• Experience managing specification packages for large or complex projects.
• UAE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of comprehensive, technically accurate architectural specification packages.
• Review and approve specification content prepared by specification coordinators.
• Coordinate specification development with architects, engineers and design consultants.
• Research and evaluate materials, products and construction methods for specification content.
• Ensure specifications comply with applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
• Support authority submissions and technical queries relating to specifications.
• Mentor and guide specification coordinators within the team.
• Maintain and continuously improve specification templates and standards across the business.
