Job summary

IRTH Group seeks an experienced Senior Architect to lead architectural technical delivery during construction, coordinating shop drawings for high-rise, mixed-use, residential, commercial, and hospitality projects across the UAE.

The role requires strong BIM leadership, meticulous review of design packages, and ensuring compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations and international standards, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in developing and coordinating architectural shop drawings, ensuring compliance with contract documents, project specifications, authority requirements, and site execution needs for high-rise, mixed-use, residential, commercial, and hospitality developments across the UAE.

Architectural Technical Delivery

• Lead the preparation, review, and coordination of architectural shop drawings for construction projects.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings suitable for construction, fabrication, and site execution.
• Prepare architectural drawings, technical specifications, schedules, reports, and design documentation in accordance with project requirements.
• Ensure all architectural designs comply with Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, accessibility requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Produce and manage BIM models in accordance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and company standards.
• Resolve design clashes through BIM coordination and participate in clash detection workshops.
• Review IFC drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies and proposing practical construction solutions.
• Participate in value engineering and design optimization exercises to improve functionality, buildability, sustainability, and project cost efficiency.
• Identify design risks and propose practical architectural solutions.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate architectural designs with Structural, MEP, Landscape, Interior Design, Façade, and Infrastructure disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.
• Review specialist consultant drawings, shop drawings, BIM models, and technical submissions for compliance, coordination, and constructability.
• Provide technical support to project teams by resolving RFIs, technical queries, material approvals, and site-related architectural issues.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings, technical workshops, and design review sessions.

Project Delivery

• Deliver assigned shop drawing packages in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
• Monitor progress of architectural draftsmen and ensure alignment with project milestones.
• Assist in reviewing contractor proposals, material submissions, mock-ups, and architectural methodologies where required.
• Support the successful delivery of residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and high-rise developments throughout all project phases.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all architectural deliverables comply with company standards, authority regulations, project specifications, and international best practices.
• Review drawings, BIM models, technical documentation, and material specifications prior to submission.
• Promote design quality, consistency, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Design & Technical Department.

Construction Support

• Provide architectural support throughout the construction phase by reviewing site conditions and resolving technical issues while maintaining design intent.
• Conduct periodic site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, materials, and workmanship.
• Assist in resolving NCRs and architectural deficiencies through practical and timely solutions.

Collaboration & Mentoring

• Work closely with the Technical Manager, Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, BIM Coordinators, Project Managers, PMC teams, and Construction teams.
• Mentor junior architects and BIM designers by providing technical guidance and reviewing their work.
• Promote collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
• Master’s degree in architecture is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years of architectural design experience.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE/GCC experience.
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of high-rise, residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed‑use developments.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, detailing, construction methodologies, and building systems.
• Thorough understanding of Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, accessibility requirements, and international architectural standards.
• Expert proficiency in Revit, Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and workflows.
• Experience with BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks.
• Good understanding of common data environments (ACC/BIM 360 or similar platforms).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
