Job summary

IRTH Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer experienced in building services for high-rise residential and commercial towers in the UAE. You will collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and the project team to develop compliant, energy-efficient HVAC, drainage, and utility designs.

Ideal candidates have a 4+ year Middle East background, knowledge of international standards (BS-EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA), and proficiency in IES, HAP, Hevacomp, and AutoCAD. UAE residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in building services / Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Chartered membership with an internationally recognized body (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Middle East, preferably UAE.
• Strong knowledge of BS-EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA standards and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform design calculations for optimization and compliance with standards and codes.
• Review mechanical systems design (HVAC, Fire Fighting, Drainage, Water, LPG) for energy efficiency.
• Propose alternative design solutions to meet budgets and project viability.
• Provide technical support to architects, structural engineers, and site teams; perform site visits as needed.
• Demonstrate buildability awareness and knowledge of construction techniques.

Performing design calculations for optimization and compliance of applicable standards and codes.

Efficient review of Mechanical systems design (HVAC, Fire Fighting, Drainage, Water, LPG) Ensure that purposed designs are following the latest energy efficient design criteria.

Propose alternative design solutions to render the projects viable and within allocated budget.

Provide technical assistance to concerned departments, liaison with Architect, Structural engineers, and site visits (whenever required) to support the project team.

Specific areas of anticipated technical skills include Have a good knowledge of buildability & construction techniques.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.

Strong attention to detail, team working, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors Strong software capability and proficiency in IES, HAP, Hevacomp, AutoCAD.

Excellent knowledge of local and international design standards, BS-EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA etc Excellent knowledge of local statutory authorities’ regulations and submission requirements across Middle East, mainly, UAE ,Dubai
