Job Description
A highly respected, international design studio is looking for anexperienced Senior Architect to join its Abu Dhabi team. This is an excellentopportunity for a technically strong, design-minded architect to work onambitious, high-profile projects and take a key role in moving schemes forwardfrom Design Development stage through to delivery.
The successful candidate will be trusted to develop and coordinateprojects in detail, ensuring that the integrity of the original concept isretained as designs progress through technical stages, consultant coordination,tender and construction.
This role would suit an architect who is equally comfortable discussingdesign intent with senior designers as they are resolving complex technicalissues, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and producing high-qualityinformation for delivery.
The role
- Take aleading role in the development and delivery of projects from DesignDevelopment stage onwards.
- Translatestrong initial design concepts into well-coordinated, buildable andcommercially viable architectural solutions.
- Maintainand protect the original design vision throughout technical development,procurement and construction.
- Leadthe coordination of architectural packages with structural, MEP,landscape, interior design and specialist consultants.
- Review,develop and coordinate drawing packages, specifications, materialschedules and technical information.
- Resolvedetailed architectural, construction and interface issues as projectsprogress.
- Managedesign information, deadlines and deliverables across multipleworkstreams.
- Workclosely with project leaders, senior designers and clients to ensuredesign decisions are clearly communicated and implemented.
- Attendconsultant coordination meetings, technical workshops, clientpresentations and site meetings where required.
- Reviewcontractor, subcontractor and supplier information, ensuring proposalsalign with the project’s architectural intent and technical requirements.
- Supportand mentor junior team members, providing guidance on detailing,coordination and project delivery.
Requirements
- QualifiedArchitect with a strong academic and professional background.
- ARBregistered, or eligible to register in the UK.
- Ideally 7+ years’ post-Part 3 experience, with demonstrable experiencetaking complex projects through detailed design and delivery.
- Astrong portfolio showing a high level of design sensitivity alongsidetechnical and delivery capability.
- Experienceworking from Design Development / RIBA Stage 3 onwards, includingtechnical design, tender and construction stages.
- Provenability to preserve a project’s original architectural design and qualitywhile responding pragmatically to programme, budget, regulatory andbuildability requirements.
- Confidentcoordinating consultants and managing complex interfaces acrossmultidisciplinary project teams.
- Strongknowledge of UK building regulations, construction detailing, materialsand technical documentation.
- Experienceon high-end, complex or large-scale projects would be highly advantageous.Backgrounds in mixed-use, residential, hospitality, commercial, culturalor masterplanning-led developments would be particularly relevant.
- Revitproficiency is preferred, alongside confidence using Adobe Creative Suiteand common drawing/documentation packages.
- Clearcommunicator with strong written and verbal English skills.
- Proactive,collaborative and highly organised, with the confidence to take ownershipof design and technical challenges.
