Job summary

Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital in Abu Dhabi’s Northern Emirates seeks an experienced Specialist in Anesthesia to deliver high-quality perioperative care. You will perform pre-anesthetic assessments, administer anesthesia, monitor intraoperative status, and participate in pain management and emergency responses with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Completion of a recognised specialty qualification in Anesthesiology per PQR.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-specialty qualification experience as a Specialist in Anesthesia.
• Experience in perioperative care, critical care support, emergency airway management, and pain management.
• DOH Licence or Eligibility as Specialist Anesthesia.
• Current BLS and ACLS; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and perioperative risk assessment.
• Develop individualized anesthesia care plans for procedures.
• Administer general, regional, local, and monitored anesthesia care.
• Monitor physiological status during surgery and intervene as needed.
• Manage airway, hemodynamics, and perioperative complications.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and safe recovery.
• Participate in acute and chronic pain management and multidisciplinary care.
• Respond to emergencies such as cardiac arrests and trauma activations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing and intensivists for coordinated care.
• Maintain clinical documentation and participate in quality initiatives.
