Job summary

Stone in Dubai is seeking an experienced Android engineer to design, develop, and maintain the base SDKs, apps, and libraries for our Android POS devices. You will help evolve the platform architecture for scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.

You will mentor developers, drive CI/CD improvements and automated testing, and uphold code quality through reviews and best practices (SOLID, Clean Architecture). This role is based in the UAE with opportunities for collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years native Android development (Kotlin/Java).
• Experience building/maintaining SDKs, libraries, or platform modules.
• Strong MVVM/MVI/Clean Architecture and SOLID knowledge.
• Familiar with Gradle and modularized projects.
• Experience with Android background services (WorkManager, ForegroundService).
• Git and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Unit and integration testing experience.
• Familiar with KMP and network libs (OkHttp, Ktor).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the base SDKs, Apps, and libraries for Android POS devices.
• Contribute to the definition and evolution of platform architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance.
• Identify and implement improvements in CI/CD processes, automated testing, and platform monitoring.
• Serve as a technical reference, mentoring and supporting developers from different teams.
• Ensure code excellence and standardization through code reviews and best practices (SOLID, Clean Architecture).
