Key Accountabilities & Activities
- Testing Operations: Perform HPLC, FTIR, DSC, Dynamic Rheometer, and EEW titration for raw materials, mixes, and prepregs.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct all tests using approved PPE (including respirators) and immediately report near-misses to the HSE Manager.
- Equipment Maintenance: Execute daily weight scale verifications and weekly lab equipment verifications; coordinate with external teams for required calibrations.
- Regulatory & Data: Act as the Government Chemical contact; perform mathematical graphing and release analysis results via LIMS.
- Process Improvement: Carry out additional testing for new materials, suppliers, or modified methods as required.
Requirements
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Education: Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a relevant field.
- Core Skills: Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace and business software like SAP and LIMS.
- Standards Knowledge: Ability to interpret AS9100, NADCAP, ASTM, and ISO standards, alongside Aerospace requirements like FOD and SPC.
Working Conditions
- Schedule: Rotating shift patterns (Day, Afternoon, Night), 5 days per week; overtime may be required.
- Physical: Involves extended standing, lifting equipment/tools, and handling hazardous materials.
Competency Profile
- Technical: Journey person level in Chemical Lab Environments and Equipment Verification/Calibration.
- Health & Safety: Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 4500
