Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an experienced accounting/controllership professional to lead monthly close and regulatory reporting, ensuring strict SOX controls and end-to-end transaction visibility across entities.

You will partner with cross-functional teams on product launches and improvements, while driving automation and robust controls. The role requires 5+ years in fintech or financial services, familiarity with VARA, NetSuite, SQL, and strong stakeholder management across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, or related experience in fintech or financial services.
• Strong experience with monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and internal controls.
• Experience with SOX, regulatory reporting, process documentation, control testing, or remediation; VARA exposure preferred.
• Ability to understand end-to-end transaction flows and assess impacts across legal entities, systems, ledgers, and reporting outputs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills across international time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and quarterly close activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support VARA regulatory reporting with data-quality checks and audit trails.
• Implement and strengthen SOX controls with documentation and audit readiness.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on new product launches ensuring regulatory readiness.
• Review funds flows, entity impacts, ledger design, and launch readiness for new products.
• Identify opportunities to automate and scale accounting operations via tech and process improvements.
• Identify and address accounting, reporting, regulatory, and operational risks early and drive resolution.
