Job summary

Coinbase, a remote-first fintech leader, is seeking an experienced accounting professional to own monthly and quarterly close, regulatory reporting with VARA, and SOX controls. You will partner with cross-functional teams on new product launches, ensuring regulatory readiness from inception and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, audit, fintech, or related fields.
• Strong experience with monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, internal controls, and SOX.
• Exposure to VARA regulatory reporting and cross-entity transaction awareness.
• Ability to assess end-to-end transaction flows across entities, systems, and ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Own key activities in monthly and quarterly close, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Support VARA regulatory reporting with data-quality checks and audit trails.
• Execute and strengthen SOX controls, maintain process docs and evidence.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on new product launches to ensure regulatory readiness.
• Review fund flows and ledger design, ensuring launch readiness for new products.
• Identify opportunities to automate accounting operations and scale processes.
• Identify and mitigate accounting and regulatory risks across international entities.
