Job summary

British Orchard Nursery in Dubai is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead month-end and year-end closings, manage AR/AP, and prepare complex financial reports. You will develop internal controls, assist in budgeting, and support audits while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge, proficiency with SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks and advanced Excel, and excellent communication and leadership abilities. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Fluency in English; additional languages a plus.
• Proficiency with SAP, Oracle or QuickBooks and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions optimizing cash flow and maintaining strong vendor and client relationships
• Prepare and analyze complex financial reports including variance analysis and trend identification for strategic decision-making
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process collaborating with department heads to set financial targets and monitor performance
• Reconcile general ledger accounts identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
