OVERALL MISSION
Your mission as a Senior Accountant will be to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial transactions and records within the company. This involves timely and precise invoice and ledger data entry, reconciliation of accounts, monitoring cash flow, and supporting month-end closing processes. The position also requires adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards, while providing essential support for VAT and WHT returns, and managing banking activities. The role aims to maintain the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization through meticulous bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the daily accounting activities required to maintain the company’s general ledger in all aspects.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Ensure completion and review of all reconciliations for Month End Closing (Accruals & Provisions, Stock Depreciation & shopsoiled products, PPV, Freight & Duties, etc. …).
- CAPEX; Maintain Fixed Asset register, booking and review.
- Reconcile and Maintain balance sheet accounts (sales collection, clients Deposits and Credit Notes,Banks, Lease ROU).
- Review Lease agreements and Reconciling expenditures (Base Rent, TOR and other store related Charges).
- Compute and record the concession fees for the consignment lease agreements
- Prepare intercompany re-invoicing and reconciliation.
- Prepare documentation for the annual and interim external audit.
- Support in implementation of new Tax Laws.
- Support budget and forecasting activities.
- Prepare federal and special tax returns and other reports as required by regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with the other finance department members to support overall department goals and objectives and maintain a cross functional communication.
- Ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are consistently practiced.
- Perform other accounting duties and supporting the accounting team as required.
Profile
- Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting roles.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles & regulations.
- General knowledge of Tax laws in the Middle East region.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Excellent Analytical skills, along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in SAP accounting software.
- Accuracy and Attention to detail.
