Job summary

ASCS Layyah seeks an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs. The role involves 1:1 or small group support, collaboration with the Inclusion Manager and teachers, and ensuring access to all classroom activities.

The successful candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree or higher diploma, and a commitment to safeguarding and professional development within a faith-based environment.

Qualifications

• Provide learning support for SEND students in class or withdrawal situations, 1:1 or small groups.
• Develop knowledge of student needs and seek advice from Inclusion Manager/ SEN Coordinator.
• Aid access to full range of learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.
• Modify or create resources as advised by SEN Coordinator or Educational Psychologist.
• Be involved in planning and day-to-day class activities.
• Support SEND student in playground and outdoor activities with health and safety in mind.
• Motivate and encourage students, using positive reinforcement per behavior plan.
• Attend in-service training and relevant meetings to stay updated on SEND developments.
• Report progress towards targets for SEND students with behavior support plans.

Responsibilities

• Attend required trainings and meetings to stay current on SEND practices.
• Document progress on targets for SEND students with behavior plans.
