Job summary

LEAMS Education in Dubai is looking for a qualified Secondary Physics teacher to deliver IGCSE and A‑Level physics within the British curriculum. The role requires planning schemes of work, delivering engaging lessons, and assessing student progress in line with KHDA expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics from a recognized institution.
  • Master's degree in Physics (required).
  • Recognised teaching qualification such as B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver physics lessons aligned with British curriculum requirements.
  • Teach secondary, IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level physics classes as assigned.
  • Prepare schemes of work, daily lesson plans, assessments, practical activities, and revision materials.
  • Explain concepts including mechanics, electricity, waves, thermal physics, fields, forces, energy, and atomic physics.
  • Use experiments, demonstrations, simulations, models, and real-world applications to support understanding.
  • Develop students’ scientific reasoning, analytical thinking, mathematical application, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments, mock examinations, and external examinations.
  • Assess classwork, homework, laboratory reports, tests, and examination papers accurately.
  • Maintain clear records of attendance, assessment, progress, and academic intervention.
  • Analyse student performance data and identify areas requiring additional support.
  • Provide constructive feedback that improves conceptual understanding and examination technique.
  • Apply differentiated teaching methods for students with varied learning abilities.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and a focused learning environment.
  • Ensure practical lessons comply with laboratory safety and risk-assessment procedures.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement planning.
  • Stay informed about current educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum updates.
  • Collaborate with science teachers, laboratory staff, coordinators, and school leaders.
