Job description

Role Overview

Secondary Physics Teacher – British Curriculum. Full‑time position located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Salary range 8,000–11,000 AED per month. Requires a minimum of 1 year of UAE teaching experience and a qualified physics background. Immediate joiner required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach physics to secondary students in line with the British Curriculum, IGCSE, AS, and A Level academic standards.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, practical knowledge, and exam readiness.
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments, assessments, practical activities, and revision materials.
  • Support students in understanding core physics topics such as mechanics, electricity, magnetism, waves, optics, thermal physics, energy, forces, and modern physics.
  • Use experiments, demonstrations, simulations, and inquiry‑based learning to make physics concepts clear and meaningful.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve performance, confidence, and subject mastery.
  • Design assessment tasks that evaluate knowledge, application, analytical ability, problem‑solving, and examination skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and ensure teaching practices remain aligned with educational trends and school improvement priorities.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management, student engagement, discipline, and academic expectations.
  • Demonstrate leadership in classroom practice, student guidance, department collaboration, and academic initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership regarding student progress and learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment data, student progress, curriculum plans, and academic reports.
  • Follow KHDA regulations, school policies, safeguarding requirements, and student welfare procedures.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, school events, and curriculum improvement activities.
  • Promote a positive learning culture focused on curiosity, critical thinking, scientific reasoning, inclusion, and student success.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics or a relevant subject.
  • Master's degree in Physics or a relevant subject.
  • Teaching qualification such as B.Ed., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in the UAE.
  • Experience teaching physics in a British Curriculum school (preferred).
  • Familiarity with IGCSE, AS, and A Level academic standards.
  • Solid understanding of KHDA regulations and school compliance expectations.
  • Strong physics subject knowledge with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Proven expertise in curriculum development and awareness of current educational trends.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a confident classroom presence.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
