Job summary

Fisher Human Resource Consultancy is seeking a Scaffolding Inspector to oversee scaffolding on Oil & Gas EPC sites in the UAE. You will inspect, verify and monitor erection, modification and dismantling, ensuring compliance with drawings, method statements and UAE safety standards.

You will maintain inspection records, prepare daily and incident reports, support toolbox talks, and coordinate with construction, HSE and QA/QC teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in scaffolding, construction, engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as Scaffolding Inspector on Oil & Gas/EPC projects.
• Valid scaffolding inspector competency or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect scaffolding structures before use, after modification, and at required intervals.
• Verify erection, alteration and dismantling per drawings, method statements and UAE standards.
• Check components, access, platforms, guardrails, and overall stability.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions or stop-work when needed.
• Maintain inspection tags, records and documentation for client requirements.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports and communicate findings to HSE/construction staff.
• Monitor compliance with procedures and close out corrective actions.
• Support toolbox talks and training on safe scaffolding practices.
• Ensure personnel have training, competency and valid certifications.

Job description

The Scaffolding Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, verifying, and monitoring scaffolding systems across Oil & Gas EPC project sites in the UAE. The role ensures scaffolds are erected, modified, and dismantled safely and in accordance with approved standards and procedures. The inspector will maintain inspection records, prepare reports, identify unsafe conditions, and support scaffolding safety training. Tank/project experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Inspect scaffolding structures before use, after modification, following adverse conditions, and at required periodic intervals.
• Verify that scaffolding is erected, altered, and dismantled in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and applicable UAE/Oil & Gas safety standards.
• Check scaffold components, access/egress, platforms, guardrails, toe boards, bracing, ties, base plates, foundations, tags, and overall structural stability.
• Identify unsafe scaffolding conditions and immediately recommend corrective actions or stop-use where required.
• Ensure scaffolding inspection tags/statuses are properly maintained and clearly displayed.
• Review scaffolding erection and modification activities and coordinate with scaffolding supervisors and construction teams.
• Maintain accurate inspection checklists, registers, records, and documentation for project/client requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and incident‑related scaffolding inspection reports and communicate findings to the relevant HSE/construction personnel.
• Monitor compliance with approved scaffolding procedures and ensure corrective actions are properly closed out.
• Support toolbox talks, awareness sessions, and training related to safe scaffolding practices.
• Verify scaffolding personnel have appropriate training, competency, and valid certification as required by the project.
• Participate in HSE meetings, site inspections, audits, and safety initiatives.
• Coordinate with Construction, HSE, QA/QC, and other project teams to ensure safe and compliant scaffolding operations.
• Maintain awareness of applicable international scaffolding standards and Oil & Gas project requirements.
• Experience with scaffolding associated with storage tanks, process units, or similar industrial structures will be an advantage.

• Diploma, technical qualification, or equivalent experience in scaffolding, construction, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Scaffolding Inspector in Oil & Gas, EPC, petrochemical, industrial, or major construction projects.
• Valid and recognized Scaffolding Inspector/Scaffolding Competency certification or relevant training certificate.
• Good knowledge of scaffolding inspection requirements, safe erection practices, access systems, load considerations, and fall‑prevention measures.
• Ability to read and understand scaffolding drawings, layouts, method statements, and inspection checklists.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills, including preparation of inspection reports and maintaining scaffold registers.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements and safe working practices in Oil & Gas environments.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess scaffold conditions, and communicate corrective actions effectively.
• Previous UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
• Experience working on storage tanks, tank farms, refineries, or similar structures is preferred but not mandatory.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with multicultural site teams.
• Ability to work at height and in demanding project‑site conditions.
• Candidates must be able to provide valid training/competency certificates relevant to scaffolding inspection.
