Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SAS Viya (3.x/4.x) and/or SAS 9.4 Administration.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes operations, including RBAC, Helm, networking, storage, and workload orchestration.
• Proficiency with Docker and container lifecycle management.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting capabilities.
• Experience with SAS ETL tools (DI Studio, Management Console).
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk.
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Vertica, etc.
• Experience with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and DR/backup strategies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee container lifecycle management using Docker and Kubernetes-native tooling.
• Perform Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, and automation of operational tasks.
• Support SAS ETL operations using SAS DI Studio and SAS Management Console.
• Implement monitoring dashboards and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk.
• Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause investigations.
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for SAS and Kubernetes environments.
• Ensure SLA compliance, operational governance, and continuous improvement of SOC/MSS processes.

Role Overview

The SAS Administrator / Kubernetes Operations Engineer is responsible for managing SAS environments (SAS Viya / SAS 9.4), orchestrating containerized workloads on Kubernetes, and ensuring stable, secure, and high‑performance analytics operations.
