Job summary

Talents of Endearment is seeking a SAS Administrator / Kubernetes Operations Engineer in Dubai to manage SAS Viya and SAS 9.4 environments, orchestrate Kubernetes workloads, and ensure stable, secure analytics operations. The role requires Emirati National status and collaboration with cloud teams for AWS/Azure/GCP deployments.

The ideal candidate will handle container lifecycles, Linux administration, SAS DI Studio tooling, and monitoring stacks, while supporting DR, backup, and SOC/MSS

Qualifications

• Experience with SAS Viya (3.x/4.x) or SAS 9.4 administration.
• Strong Kubernetes operations knowledge including RBAC and Helm.
• Proficiency with Docker and container lifecycle management.
• Solid Linux/Unix administration and scripting skills.
• Experience with SAS DI Studio and SAS Management Console.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk stacks.
• Good SQL knowledge across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Vertica, etc.
• Experience with DR/backup strategies and performance tuning.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer SAS Viya and SAS 9.4 environments including upgrades and user management.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters: Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, RBAC, Helm.
• Oversee container lifecycle with Docker and Kubernetes tooling.
• Perform Linux/Unix administration and automation of tasks.
• Support SAS ETL operations using SAS DI Studio/Management Console.
• Implement monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk.
• Conduct performance tuning and root cause analysis.
• Manage backup, restore, and DR procedures for SAS and Kubernetes.
• Ensure SLA compliance and governance for SOC/MSS processes.
• Prepare operational reports and liaise with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cloud teams for deployments across AWS/Azure/GCP.

Role Overview

The SAS Administrator / Kubernetes Operations Engineer is responsible for managing SAS environments (SAS Viya / SAS 9.4), orchestrating containerized workloads on Kubernetes, and ensuring stable, secure, and high‑performance analytics operations. The role blends platform administration, DevOps practices, and operational governance within enterprise data environments.

This position is strictly open to Emirati Nationals, supporting national workforce development and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SAS Viya (3.x/4.x) and SAS 9.4 environments, including configuration, upgrades, patching, and user management.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters: Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, RBAC, Helm charts, Storage classes, Networking policies .
• Oversee container lifecycle management using Docker and Kubernetes-native tooling.
• Perform Linux/Unix administration , shell scripting, and automation of operational tasks.
• Support SAS ETL operations using SAS DI Studio and SAS Management Console .
• Implement monitoring dashboards and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk .
• Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause investigations.
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for SAS and Kubernetes environments.
• Ensure SLA compliance, operational governance, and continuous improvement of SOC/MSS processes.
• Prepare customer‑facing operational reports and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Support resource planning, shift management, and act as an escalation point for technical teams.
• Collaborate with cloud teams for deployments and integrations across AWS, Azure, or GCP .

Requirements Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong hands‑on experience with SAS Viya (3.x/4.x) and/or SAS 9.4 Administration.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes operations, including RBAC, Helm, networking, storage, and workload orchestration.
• Proficiency with Docker and container lifecycle management.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting capabilities.
• Experience with SAS ETL tools (DI Studio, Management Console).
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk.
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Vertica, etc.
• Experience with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and DR/backup strategies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms ( AWS, Azure, GCP ) is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Terraform , Ansible , or other IaC/automation tools.
• Certifications such as CKA , CKAD , or SAS administration credentials.
• Understanding of enterprise security, SOC/MSS operations, and operational governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in SAS administration, Kubernetes operations, or DevOps engineering roles.
• Emirati National (Mandatory).
