Job summary

Marlin Selection Recruitment is recruiting a Commodities Sales Trader for an international financial services firm in Dubai. This opportunity suits a commercially driven sales trader with strong commodities knowledge and experience developing institutional client relationships.

You will help grow the commodities franchise, combining client coverage, trade execution and market insight across energy, metals and agricultural markets.

Qualifications

• Experience in commodities sales trading or broking within a brokerage, bank or trading firm.
• Strong understanding of commodity derivatives, market dynamics and hedging strategies.
• An established client network; Middle East coverage would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with institutional investors, trading houses, producers, consumers and corporate clients.
• Originate and execute business across commodities futures, options and other derivatives.
• Identify clients’ trading and hedging requirements, working with internal specialists to deliver suitable solutions.
• Provide timely market commentary, pricing and trade ideas across commodity markets.
• Build revenue through new client acquisition and deeper engagement with existing accounts.
• Coordinate with trading, operations, credit and compliance teams to support efficient execution and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate records of client activity, pipeline opportunities and revenue performance.

• Develop and manage relationships with institutional investors, trading houses, producers, consumers and corporate clients.
• Originate and execute business across commodities futures, options and other derivatives.
• Identify clients’ trading and hedging requirements, working with internal specialists to deliver suitable solutions.
• Provide timely market commentary, pricing and trade ideas across commodity markets.
• Build revenue through new client acquisition and deeper engagement with existing accounts.
• Coordinate with trading, operations, credit and compliance teams to support efficient execution and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate records of client activity, pipeline opportunities and revenue performance.

Candidate profile

• Experience in commodities sales trading or broking within a brokerage, bank or trading firm.
• Strong understanding of commodity derivatives, market dynamics and hedging strategies.
• A track record of generating revenue and building lasting client relationships.
• An established client network; Middle East coverage would be advantageous.
• Confident communication, negotiation and execution skills.
• An entrepreneurial approach, sound commercial judgement and a strong awareness of risk and compliance.
• Broader experience across FX, rates or other asset classes would be beneficial.
