Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited in Dubai seeks an EHS professional to lead health, safety and environmental programs on construction projects. You will establish and upgrade the EHS management system in line with ISO standards, conduct training, and coordinate audits and inspections.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency planning, permit systems and health welfare programs, with regular reporting to project and IC heads. On-site role with emphasis on safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing ISO-45001/ISO-14001/ISO-9001 based EHS systems on construction projects.
• Strong training delivery and facilitation skills for engineers and workers.
• Ability to coordinate audits, inspections and permit systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish, monitor and coordinate upgraded EHS management system aligned with ISO standards.
• Conduct site and HR EHS trainings for engineers and workers.
• Identify hazards and perform risk assessments; ensure method statements reflect findings.
• Prepare EHS Plans and Environment Management Plans.
• Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party inspections.
• Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans and conduct drills.
• Facilitate implementation of Work Permit System.
• Coordinate occupational health and welfare measures.
• Prepare subcontractor EHS conditions of contract.
• Stop unsafe practices and promote action-oriented safety culture.
• Carry out monthly risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
• Provide EHS reports to project head and IC Head.

Job description

• Establishing, monitoring, appraising & coordinating upgraded version of integrated health, safety & environment management system (Confirming to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015 and ISO 9001 standards) for construction projects, improvising procedure manual and internal audits based on above standards.
• Conducting training program on EHS topics for engineers & workers in site as well as in HR organized EHS training programs.
• Doing Hazard identification and risk assessment for the critical activities and ensuring method statements incorporates the findings.
• Preparing EHS Plan and Environment Management Plan
• Coordinating External EHS Audits & Third Party Inspections of Equipment's
• Preparing Emergency Preparedness Plan and Conducting Emergency Drills
• Facilitating Implementation of Work Permit System
• Coordinating for Occupational Health & Welfare measures.
• Preparing Condition of contract on EHS for Sub-contractors.
• Stop work if any unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a don’t walk by and commitment to Action attitude all the time.
• Carry out projects Risk Management Audit on monthly basic and system audit quarterly.
• Provide EHS report to project head and IC Head to inform them the current status of EHS performance.
