Job summary

Rashed Al Rashed & Sons Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Safety Officer to maintain a safe workplace, conduct daily inspections across production, warehouse and maintenance, and ensure adherence to safety rules. You will identify hazards, enforce PPE use, and support drills and incident investigations.

The role requires NEBOSH IGC and a safety degree, with strong communication in English and Hindi.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• NEBOSH IGC is required.
• IOSH or First Aid certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of safety experience, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, production, warehouse, or a similar industry.
• UAE experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety rules and procedures.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Good proficiency in English and Hindi.
• Ability to work in a production environment.
• Good observation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections in production, warehouse, maintenance and other work areas.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take action to correct them.
• Ensure employees use PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, masks, helmets and ear protection.
• Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks and safety training for employees.
• Report and investigate accidents, injuries, near misses and unsafe incidents.
• Prepare and maintain safety reports and records.
• Check machine safety, guards, emergency stops and electrical safety.
• Check fire extinguishers, alarms, exits and emergency equipment.
• Support fire drills and emergency evacuation drills.
• Make sure chemicals are stored and used safely.
• Monitor housekeeping and ensure work areas are clean and safe.
• Check safe working practices during maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure contractors and outsourced workers follow company safety rules.
• Prepare and update risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Follow up on safety issues and complete corrective actions.

• Work with Production, Maintenance, QA, Warehouse, and HR teams to improve workplace safety.
• Report serious safety violations to management immediately.
• Promote safety awareness among all employees.

FMCG / Production Safety

• Monitor safety around production machines, mixers, ovens, conveyors, packing machines, freezers, and other equipment.
• Identify risks related to moving machines, hot surfaces, electrical equipment, manual handling, slips, trips, and falls.
• Ensure employees follow safe working procedures during production and cleaning activities.
• Support the production team in maintaining a safe working environment.
