Job summary

Caliberly is seeking a skilled Rust Developer to design, implement and maintain high-performance software components using Rust. You will collaborate with product, architecture, QA and operations to build scalable systems and drive technical excellence.

The role emphasizes ownership, safe concurrency, and modern tooling, including Cargo and crates. You will work on performance-critical software and contribute to architecture decisions and code quality across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 35+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of production Rust development.
• Strong Rust proficiency: ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, Cargo.
• Knowledge of memory management, concurrency and async programming.
• Experience with Tokio/async-std, web frameworks or microservices.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes.
• Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software modules using Rust for safety and performance.
• Write clean, idiomatic Rust with peer reviews and tests.
• Work on performance-critical, concurrent/async systems.
• Participate in architecture discussions and tool selection.
• Troubleshoot, profile and optimise memory, latency and throughput.
• Deploy and maintain services on-premises or in cloud; support CI/CD.
• Document designs and mentor junior engineers; share best practices.
