Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate major rotating equipment maintenance activities to ensure safe operation, high availability, and reliable performance of plant machinery.
- Support production and maintenance teams in equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine surveillance, start‑up activities, and technical training related to rotating equipment.
- Develop long‑range machinery overhaul plans based on running hours, equipment condition, performance evaluation, historical data, and reliability requirements.
- Work with production teams to maintain the integrity, reliability, and sustainability of mechanical assets associated with rotating equipment.
- Provide assistance to the Senior Rotating Engineer in schedule preparation, budget estimates, maintenance planning, and section‑related technical activities.
- Review required spare parts, material availability, manpower, tools, vendor support, and other resources required to execute planned maintenance jobs.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed as per plan while reducing equipment downtime and improving job execution quality.
- Lead or support Root Cause Analysis investigations, solution development, and risk assessments to minimize equipment trips and improve plant reliability.
- Prepare scope of work for OEMs and service providers for refurbishment, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of major repairable non‑insurance parts.
- Follow up OEM and service provider activities including budgeting, service work order issuance, tracking, inspection, receiving, and completion of repair works.
- Supervise major overhauls and ensure that rotating equipment maintenance activities are completed safely, on schedule, and in line with approved procedures.
- Provide technical support to area maintenance and operations teams for troubleshooting, performance issues, and recurring rotating equipment problems.
- Resolve chronic equipment problems by identifying suitable engineering solutions that may require detailed investigation and technical review.
- Maintain updated history records for major rotating equipment and major parts to support replacement planning, lifecycle tracking, and reliability improvement.
- Use tracking databases to monitor aged parts, equipment condition, overhaul history, repair records, and replacement requirements.
- Coordinate with technical engineering divisions to request technical services for major equipment issues, agree on scope of work, review findings, and implement recommendations.
- Follow up permanent and temporary plant change management requests related to major rotating equipment from initiation through pre‑FEED, FEED, execution, and post‑close stages.
- Coordinate with project teams to review rotating equipment documents for new projects, retrofits, modifications, service bulletins, and plant expansions.
- Support rotating equipment reviews from pre‑FEED stage until project completion to ensure maintainability, reliability, and safe operation.
- Train and develop assigned staff on relevant maintenance skills, technical practices, and rotating equipment procedures.
- Provide input for section, team or department budgets and support implementation of approved budgets and work plans.
- Investigate and highlight significant budget, schedule, or performance variances to support cost control and corrective action.
- Implement approved policies, processes, standards, systems, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
- Comply with applicable legislation, legal regulations, HSE policies, sustainability guidelines, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Contribute to approved performance objectives by supporting equipment availability, maintenance quality, reliability KPIs, and operational excellence.
- Identify internal process improvements and introduce practical tools or techniques that improve maintenance efficiency and work quality.
- Provide inputs for MIS reports, progress updates, equipment status summaries, and management reporting requirements.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance of rotating equipment within a large industrial organization.
- Experience in the Oil and Energy industry is preferred, especially within refinery, gas processing, petrochemical, upstream, downstream, or major plant operations.
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment maintenance, machinery overhaul planning, equipment surveillance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
- Experience working with pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, mechanical seals, lube oil systems, and related rotating machinery will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of performance analysis and maintenance standards in Oil and Energy production environments.
- Ability to support equipment testing, start‑up activities, routine inspection, shutdown preparation, and major overhaul supervision.
- Experience coordinating with OEMs, vendors, service providers, technical engineering teams, project teams, production, and maintenance personnel.
- Strong knowledge of spare parts planning, service work orders, repair tracking, refurbishment follow‑up, and material availability control.
- Ability to lead or support Root Cause Analysis, risk assessments, reliability reviews, and chronic problem investigations.
- Good understanding of business planning, performance measurement, economic analysis, maintenance cost control, and operational performance reporting.
- Familiarity with relevant business processes, maintenance systems, technical tools, and plant production performance analysis reports.
- Awareness of business risks and controls related to plant production and rotating equipment reliability within the Oil and Energy sector.
- Strong planning, organizing, scheduling, coordination, checking, examination, recording, and reporting skills.
- Able to work safely in a multi‑discipline environment while supporting HSE requirements, sustainability expectations, and company procedures.
