Job summary

DELano Dubai is seeking a Rooms Controller to coordinate room inventory, allocations and guest arrivals, ensuring the highest standards of luxury and guest satisfaction. You will collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations and other operations to deliver precise room readiness and seamless arrivals.

Experience in luxury hotel front office or rooms control, and proficiency with PMS systems (Opera preferred), are essential for success in a fast-paced, high-occupancy environment at

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Front Office, Rooms Control or Reservations within a luxury or lifestyle hotel.
• Strong understanding of room inventory, allocation and Front Office operations.
• Experience working with a hotel Property Management System (PMS); Opera experience is an advantage.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across operational departments.
• Confident working in a fast-paced environment, particularly during high occupancy and peak arrival periods.
• Strong guest focus with the ability to anticipate needs and resolve operational challenges proactively.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Room Allocation: Manage daily room assignments, considering guest preferences, VIP status, special requests and operational requirements.
• Room Inventory Control: Monitor room availability, status and inventory throughout the day, ensuring accuracy across systems.
• Arrival Planning: Review upcoming arrivals and departures, proactively identifying priorities, early arrivals, room moves and special requirements.
• VIP & Special Requests: Coordinate room allocations for VIPs, repeat guests and special occasions, ensuring preferences and requests are communicated and actioned.
• Room Readiness: Work closely with Housekeeping and Front Office to monitor room status and ensure rooms are prioritised and released efficiently.
• Operational Coordination: Maintain clear communication between Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, Guest Experience and other departments to support smooth daily operations.
• PMS Accuracy: Ensure room status, allocations, traces, guest profiles and relevant information are accurately maintained within the PMS.
• Guest Experience: Anticipate potential room-related challenges and work proactively with the team to minimise delays and deliver a seamless arrival experience.
• Occupancy Management: Support the Front Office leadership team in managing high-occupancy periods, room changes, upgrades and operational requirements.
• Shift Communication: Maintain accurate handovers and communicate outstanding room-related priorities to ensure continuity across shifts.

Job Description

As a Rooms Controller at DELANO Dubai, you play a key role in ensuring the seamless coordination of room inventory, allocations and guest arrivals.
