Job summary

Apex Group in the UAE seeks a Client Risk Officer to lead risk management for regulated entities. The role requires building and maintaining risk frameworks and governance, and working with client Compliance teams to meet regulatory obligations.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in financial services risk management, with ADGM/FSRA and DIFC exposure. The position located in Dubai/Abu Dhabi offers an opportunity to influence risk posture in a global firm.

Qualifications

• Between 5 to 10 years of risk management experience in financial services.
• Strong understanding of operational, regulatory and conduct risk and governance.
• Experience in regulated environments: ADGM/FSRA and DIFC is preferred.

• Own risk policies, procedures and risk governance documentation.

Client Risk Officer Regulated Entity: ADGM/FSRA and DIFC Primary Location: DUBAI and ABU DHABI - UAE ROLE PURPOSE:

The Risk Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the risk management framework for Apex clients. The role will act as a key second line of defence for the respective clients, ensuring that operational, regulatory, technology, cyber, conduct, and third-party risks are properly identified, monitored, and managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain for Apex clients the Enterprise Risk Management framework, Risk Appetite Statement, and Key Risk Indicators.
• Own and update risk policies, procedures, and risk governance documentation.
• Maintain the Risk Register for Apex clients across operational, regulatory, conduct, technology, and third-party risks.
• Overseeing risk management including portfolio analysis.
• Provide risk reporting and insights to senior management, the Board, and relevant committees.
• Assess for Apex Clients risks related to new products, digital assets, technology infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Oversee outsourcing and third-party risk management, including due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and control improvement actions.
• Work closely with the client’s Compliance and MLRO teams to align risk management with regulatory and financial crime obligations.
• Support regulatory discussions and ensure risk documentation is regulator ready.

Requirements

• Between 5 to 10 years experience of risk management within financial services
• Strong understanding of operational risk, conduct risk, regulatory risk and governance
• Experience working in a regulated environment: ADGM/FSRA and DIFC experience is preferred
• Degree in Finance or Risk Professional certification such as FRM, PRM, or CFA are preferred
