Job summary

Apex is seeking a Risk Officer to develop and oversee the risk management framework for its clients. The role acts as a second line of defense ensuring operational, regulatory, technology, conduct, and third-party risks are identified and managed.

The successful candidate will have 5–10 years of risk management experience in financial services, with strong knowledge of governance and regulatory expectations. A degree in Finance or Risk, and professional certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of risk management in financial services.

• Experience in regulated environments: ADGM/FSRA and DIFC preferred.
• Degree in Finance or Risk; FRM/PRM/CFA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the risk management framework for Apex clients.
• Own risk policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
• Maintain risk registers across operational, regulatory, tech, and third-party risks.
• Lead incident management and root cause analysis.
• Provide risk reporting to senior management and Board.
• Support regulatory discussions and ensure regulator-ready documentation.

Job description

The Risk Officer will be responsible for developing implementing and overseeing the risk management framework for Apex clients The role will act as a key second line of defence for the respective clients ensuring that operational regulatory technology cyber conduct and third-party risks are properly identified monitored and managed

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain for Apex clients the Enterprise Risk Management framework
• Risk Appetite Statement and Key Risk Indicators
• Own and update risk policies procedures and risk governance documentation
• Maintain the Risk Register for Apex clients across operational regulatory conduct technology and third-party risks
• Overseeing risk management including portfolio analysis
• Provide risk reporting and insights to senior management the Board and relevant committees
• Assess for Apex Clients risks related to new products digital assets technology infrastructure and cybersecurity
• Oversee outsourcing and third-party risk management including due diligence and ongoing monitoring
• Lead incident management root cause analysis and control improvement actions
• Work closely with the client s Compliance and MLRO teams to align risk management with regulatory and financial crime obligations
• Support regulatory discussions and ensure risk documentation is regulator ready
