Role Description

The Resident Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Arab Emirates, working closely with client staff to provide technical support and oversight for installed systems and equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Resident Engineer will review technical documentation and drawings, support installation and commissioning activities, and provide guidance to technicians and operators. The role also involves preparing reports, documenting incidents and resolutions, and communicating regularly with both client stakeholders and ATS FZE's engineering team. The Resident Engineer is expected to build strong working relationships, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and help optimize system reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in engineering (such as mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation), with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals. Experience in installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of industrial or commercial systems, equipment, or machinery. Proficiency in diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques, including the use of relevant tools, test equipment, and software. Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in an industrial or engineering environment, with a commitment to safe work procedures. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with client teams, technicians, and internal stakeholders. Ability to document work clearly, prepare technical reports, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance. Organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple service requests at an on-site location. Relevant engineering degree or diploma, or equivalent technical qualification; professional certifications in maintenance or reliability engineering are an advantage. Prior experience in a resident or site-based engineering role, ideally within the United Arab Emirates or regional industrial sectors, is beneficial. Willingness to adhere to client policies, adapt to changing operational requirements, and continuously update
