Job summary

Akkodis invites applications for an on-site ATM system support role in Dubai. You will participate in pre-warranty and warranty activities for Dubai New ATM and TopSky-ATC systems, configuring equipment per design and coordinating interfaces with internal teams.

You will travel to project sites in Dubai and possibly Melbourne for knowledge transfer, performing first-line maintenance and assisting with PCRs, RRFs, and software updates as guided by factory teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or a similar technical domain.
• Experience installing and integrating complex computer systems (network switches, servers, firewalls).
• Hands-on with Cybersecurity practices.

Job description

Support maintenance activities to fulfill warranty requirements for the Dubai New Air Traffic Management (ATM) System and support the TopSky-ATC system across sites.

Responsibilities

Pre-Warranty / Support (Under Direct Supervision):

• Implement equipment configurations and parameters for ATM solution(s) following detailed designs.
• Coordinate with management for assembly of an ATM system and interface with relevant internal departments as necessary.
• Assist with detailed configuration design, load, validation, and handover of infrastructure and associated equipment on-site.

Warranty / Support (With Minimal Supervision):

• Carry out On-the-Job Training (OJT) with nominated customer (DANS) engineers.
• Support first-line maintenance of the complete ATM system.
• Coordinate and deliver technical instructions (maintenance scripts) derived from equipment manuals to enable customer engineers to execute first-line maintenance.
• Travel to various deployed project sites within Dubai to ensure systems meet required availability metrics.
• Manage all software maintenance service activities in conjunction with customer maintenance engineers in the T&V Environment under guidance from factory engineering teams.
• Assist maintenance engineers when raising Problem Change Requests (PCRs) and rolling out new software releases.
• Assist and support factory-based engineers in resolving hardware problems, responding to Repair Request Forms (RRF), and initiating hardware design changes/replacing obsolete items.
• Support factory-based engineers in resolving software problems, responding to PCRs, and initiating software changes to meet performance and warranty requirements.
• Travel to factory offices in Melbourne, Australia if necessary to participate in a Transfer of Knowledge training program

Required skills

• Intermediate-level knowledge of UNIX / LINUX operating systems.
• Advanced knowledge of computer peripherals (I/O devices, storage devices, printers, and displays).
• Advanced-level knowledge of networking, data transmission, and protocols (specifically TCP/IP).
• Strong electronic troubleshooting knowledge and skills.
• Advanced knowledge in computer hardware and microprocessor operations.
• Proficiency in technical English comprehension.
• Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows & GUIs; intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio); advanced knowledge of personnel and equipment safety requirements

Required experience

• Demonstrated experience managing the installation and integration of complex computer systems (network switches, servers, firewalls, etc.).
• Proven track record with software implementation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Cybersecurity practices.
• Practical knowledge or exposure to the TopSky-ATC system.
