Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead (Ruby on Rails, AI-Native) based in the United Arab Emirates. The role is part-time with about 4–5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and fully remote with occasional UK-aligned hours.

You will shape engineering culture, set technical standards, and mentor a small distributed team, leveraging AI-native tools like Cursor and Claude Code. This leadership position emphasizes ownership, sustainability, and collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software experience with production systems.
• Strong Ruby on Rails experience, including 6+ years in production.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team and establishing standards.
• Excellent judgment for architecture, code quality, and engineering practices.
• Daily hands-on experience with AI-native development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• Ability to work across remote, distributed teams and UK business-aligned hours.
• Ownership mindset and ability to drive technical direction in a part-time role (4–5 hours/day).
• Legal authorization to work in your country of residence.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an engineering culture and collaboration standards.
