Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a client to hire a Senior ML Engineer focused on Malware Detection for remote work in the United Arab Emirates. You will build, evaluate, and deploy ML models to detect web-based malware across large Linux hosting environments, leveraging transformers and AI-assisted tooling.

You will collaborate with malware analysts and engineers, optimize performance and costs, and drive production deployments with rigorous evaluation.

Qualifications

• At least five years of production ML experience, including adversarial domains.
• Transformer model training/fine-tuning including LoRA/QLoRA and distillation.
• Strong understanding of gradient boosting, linear models, and calibration for imbalanced data.
• Experience designing leakage-free splits by time and malware family; regression datasets.
• Able to optimize CPU/memory usage and costs; familiarity with ONNX, llama.cpp, vLLM.
• Proficient in Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face; SQL experience with analytical databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and deploy ML models using production malware data.
• Develop classification and triage for malicious content.
• Generate detection signatures from emerging campaigns.
• Identify contextual threats such as phishing, webshells, and injections.
• Improve detection precision and cleanup effectiveness in production.
• Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks and prevent data leakage.
• Optimize inference throughput and cost across large hosting fleets.
• Move models into production with shadow deployments and controlled releases.
• Document architecture decisions and results; share knowledge.
