Job summary

WSP in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Project Director to lead a major construction supervision programme on a remote site. You will drive on-site delivery, coordinate contractors and consultants, and ensure alignment with client objectives, schedule, budget and quality.

The role demands 20+ years of experience, strong leadership and stakeholder management, and a proven track record delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects in challenging environments, preferably in the Middle East.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 20 years of experience delivering large-scale construction projects.
Proven experience in a Project Director or senior leadership role delivering construction supervision projects.
Strong background in construction supervision on remote or challenging sites.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects from construction through to handover.
Extensive experience working on high-value or landmark developments.
Strong commercial, contractual, and programme management expertise.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in remote site environments.
Experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider Middle East is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership for site-based project delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives, schedule, budget, and quality.
Act as the primary point of accountability for project execution and delivery outcomes on site.
Lead the construction supervision phase with coordination between contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
Oversee all site operations ensuring works meet designs and standards.
Manage interface issues across disciplines for coordinated delivery.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations.
Maintain oversight of project costs, variations, and change control processes.
Ensure adherence to the project programme and reporting.
Engage with local authorities and third parties to support delivery.
Lead commercial discussions and issue resolution at senior level.
Ensure compliance with regulations, codes and authority requirements.
Champion health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Mentor and manage the on-site project team; foster high-performance culture.
Oversee resource planning, team performance, and succession planning.
