Job summary

NMC ProVita International in the United Arab Emirates seeks a qualified registered nurse to join our multidisciplinary care team. The role focuses on coordinating patient care, educating patients and families, and delivering compassionate support across departments.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, at least two years of clinical experience (ICU/critical care or homecare), a valid RN license with re-licensure, and an American Heart Association BLS card.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience including ICU/critical care or homecare.
  • Licensed to work as a registered nurse with required re-licensing.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Arabic language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate patient care; educate patients and families.
  • Assess needs and implement/monitor medical plans with the care team.
  • Record vital signs and address abnormalities.
  • Administer medications and monitor reactions.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
  • Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment. They will work with a team of physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various settings.
  • Perform systematic patient assessment, re-assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
  • Understand and analyse the assessment information and data.
  • Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care.
  • Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient and patient's bystanders.
  • Record vital signs, recognize, address and escal all abnormalities.
  • Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
  • Employ strategies to promote patients’ health and a safe environment.
  • Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations.
  • Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support.
  • Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions.
  • Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions.
  • Provide wound care management.
  • Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed.
  • Facilitate the process of safe patient` admission, transfer and discharge.
  • Support the execution of business continuity plans by maintaining essential nursing services during emergencies, follow established protocols to ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the healthcare team to sustain operational effectiveness.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure competence in pain management.
Qualifications

Essential: The post holder must

  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution in their home country.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including recent assignment in ICU, Critical Care, long-term care unit, or equivalent experience within Homecare settings in the same cluster.
  • Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all thequalifications and experience these mandates.
  • Manage their own professional re-licensure.
  • Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)

DESIRABLE: The post holder should have:

  • Evidenced ability to work as part ofan inter-professionalteam.
  • Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in Arabic
