Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi is looking for a qualified registered nurse to provide and coordinate patient care. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
  • Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment. Work with a team of physicians and other healthcare specialists or allied health in various settings.
  • Perform systematic patient assessment, re-assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient's health or situation.
  • Understand and analyze the assessment information and data.
  • Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient's planned care.
  • Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient and patient's bystanders.
  • Record vital signs, recognize, address and upscale all abnormalities.
  • Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
  • Employ strategies to promote patients' health and a safe environment.
  • Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations.
  • Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as Basic Life Support.
  • Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions.
  • Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions.
  • Provide wound care management.
  • Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed.
  • Facilitate the process of safe patient admission, transfer and discharge.
  • Support the execution of business continuity plans by maintaining essential nursing services during emergencies, following established protocols to ensure patient safety, and collaborating with the healthcare team to sustain operational effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure competence in pain management.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution in their home country.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including recent assignment in ICU, Critical Care, long‑term care unit, or equivalent experience within Homecare settings in the same cluster.
  • Has an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all qualifications and experience mandated.
  • Manages their own professional re‑licensure.
  • Holds a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • Willing to work across departments when necessary.
  • Can communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
  • Desirable: Evidence of ability to work as part of an inter‑professional team.
  • Organizational and administrative skills to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation.
  • Can communicate effectively in Arabic.
